OTHER NOTICES

Holy Confirmation

Holy Confirmation will be observed in the Parish on Sunday, 11th July, 2010, at 8.00 a.m. Parents, guardians and God-parents are asked to take note, and to help the Church to prepare the children for this important development in their spiritual lives. We are to ensure at the same time that the children remain with the Church. Assist them please to join one of our Church youth organizations: AYPA, Servers, Scouts, Junior Choir, GEMS, Abstinence Advocates, Culture Club and Sunday School.

NEEDED:

Also needed greatly at St. George’s are Sunday School teachers. .Volunteers for this special ministry of imparting the Christian Faith to the youth, would be most welcome. Kindly inform the Clergy or any of the active Sunday School teachers today, of your desire to teach in Sunday School.

Receipts for the Food Fair:

You will be pleased to hear the figures received for the Special Offering for the Food Fair: On May 23 - St. George:1122.94, Barnabas: 778.01 on May 30 - St. George: 1196.35, St. Barnabas: 560.05. The Clergy Vestry and Pastoral Committee wish to thank all who contributed so generously, and more so in spite of the heavy rain on 30th. May before and during both services.

Intercession for the Nation:

This service takes place in the Cayon District at St. Mary’s Church on Wednesday, 16th June at 5.00 p.m. This is the second such service arranged by the St. Kitts Christian Council, to intercede for the citizens of this land, some of whom are living in fear; so please keep the date in mind and try to attend, as we implore God’s favour on us as a nation.

Bishop Brooks’ Visit to St. Kitts in July:

Bishop Brookes hopes to visit St. Kitts 4th –12th July for Confirmations on 4th and 11th, and meetings with Clergy and Vestries. We look forward to this.. First with the Clergy on Monday 5th and the St. Kitts Regional Council on Wednesday, 7th. During his stay he will meet with the Vestries of St. Anne’s and St. Thomas, St. Paul’s with St. John’s at Dieppe Bay, and St. Mary’s with Christ Church.

Soup Kitchen Project:

We need several persons to take food to the sick and Shut-Ins. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning 21st June when the St. Christopher Outreach Centre serves food for the first time. This centre is owned by Rams Trading Ltd and operated by the St. Kitts Christian Council through personnel from its member Churches .Kindly come forward and offer your transportation and your time for this social service.

ACWA Father's Day Brunch

ACWA is planning a Brunch for Father’s Day, at the Parish Hall on June 20, 10 a.m.—1.00 p.m. Tickets from ACWA members. Please support this fund-raising effort by the members of ACWA, and kindly invite others to support it. ACWA Members are also reminded of the General Meeting on Monday, 14th June, at 5..30 pm at the Parish Hall.
