Signed, Sealed, Delivered - I'm God's

2009-05-03

My brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus Christ, on this Diocesan Youth Day 2009, I greet you with the joy and peace of our Lord. As we celebrate the 2009 Diocesan Youth Day under the theme: Anglican Youths:-Signed, Sealed, Delivered :- I’m GOD'S. The theme encourages us as Anglican Youths of today and tomorrow to keep our hearts, minds and lives focused on the gift that God has given us - our very persons - and remember his promise of life eternal with him in Heaven.

God continues to strengthen us and prepare us to make full use of his gifts to us by feeding us with his life (Holy Communion) and showing us his will and way by Holy Spirit through his Word (Bible).

Faced with everyday challenges such as peer pressure (gangs), worldly pleasures (money and material things) and family breakdowns, we need to be reminded that we are God’s, we have been signed sealed and delivered for Him by Him. This means that God is always there for us. God encourages us to rise above all the difficulties that come our way. We can do this by following the spiritual guidelines that he continues to give to each one of us. We have to strengthen such guidelines in our lives. We can all do this by getting involved in positive Youth organizations such as those that we have in our Parish Church. We have the AYPA, Sunday school, music and singing ministry through the Choir and the ministry of serving at the Altar through the Guild of Altar Servers.

I ask that each one of us continue to be the good Christians that we are called to be and I am sure that we will be set free from the bondage of sins. In our daily practice we need to ensure that we read our Bibles, pray daily, learn to listen to our elders and love our neighbours as ourselves.

In conclusion, it’s safe to say that as long as we are getting involved in the church and its ministries then we are on the right path and we will find our true joy and center to be in God’s hand.
