A Message of Peace2007-12-16
My Dear Parishioners,
I greet you all on this the third Sunday in Advent. There is just one week to go before Christmas day. Let us continue to prepare for a Christ-filled Christmas.
M One of the messages that Christmas brings to our world is that of peace. In the time remaining before Christmas Day, let us all do what we have to do to find peace in our hearts, our homes and our relationships. Today in worship, think about all those persons whom you may have some kind of difficulty with and ask God to help you to make peace so that by the time Christmas Day reaches you have cleared that difficulty and is living in love and harmony with everyone. Far too often we spend Christmas in some very secular ways and make no effort to create space for peace to reign in our lives, homes and relationships. This is to miss the point. Today we remind you of the message of peace that is coming and invite you to prepare to receive it. As we prepare let each one of us pray: “Lord let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.”
