Last Sunday after the Epiphany

2008-02-03

My dear Parishioners,

I greet you all on this the last Sunday after the feast of the Epiphany, which was celebrated on January 6. It means that this is the Sunday before Ash Wednesday.

Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Lenten Season. Lent is a time for spiritual renewal. It is for this reason that during the season of Lent we organize special renewal activities. In 2008 our special renewal activities will include the following:

Sunday Morning exchange of pulpits among the clergy of St. Kitts and Nevis. We will use the Lectionary readings as the basis for our meditations and reflections.

3rd Thursdays at 6:00pm we will have special services
with Bible study on the Kingdom of God.

Wednesday Evenings Special renewal services: they will begin at 7:30pm; the readings, singing and prayers will be lead by the different organizations/ministries of the Parish.

We extend a very special invitation for all our members and friends to join in these special Lenten activities and be drawn into a deeper relationship with God in Jesus Christ.

This year our Parish will be using the theme: “Staying Focus and on Course in Christian Commitment” to guide all our activities throughout the year. I am asking every Parishioner to come out on Wednesday Evening – Ash Wednesday and begin Lent 2008 on the right note. The service, which is mass with the imposition of ashes begins at 6:00pm.

Rev. Isaiah Phillip
