Lenten Renewal Programme 2008

2008-02-10

My dear Parishioners,

I greet you all on this the first Sunday in Lent 2008. Once again we in the St. Kitts Regional Council have arranged a special renewal programme for Lent.

The 2008 special Lenten renewal programme contains activities which are designed to help all our members use the Lenten season as a time for spiritual renewal so that we can all experience Easter as a time of deepened faith and stronger Christian commitment.

Our programme this year will consist mainly of Sunday morning pulpit exchanges among the clergy of the Federation. On Wednesday evenings there will be special renewal services with focus on the miracles of Jesus. For our Bible Study sessions on the second (2nd) Thursdays during Lent we in Holy Trinity will be looking at the Kingdom of God. Our sub-theme for this activity will be “staying focus and on course in the Kingdom of God.” We invite all members to come and share and be renewed for Easter Day, 2008.

For the first time in our Parish we have decided to have an overall theme to guide and focus our Parish’s mission and ministry for the entire year. This theme is “staying focus and on course in Christian Commitment.”

In the Parish generally I am making a special appeal for those confirmed members who are not currently taking communion to use Lent 2008 as the time to re-enter the communicant life of the church. During Holy Week we will have a service for that very purpose – restoring lapsed members to communion. We want to move our Easter Day communion to not less than 40 persons. Last year Easter Day communions were about 25.
