About the St. Kitts Christian Council2009-11-29
 |
Brothers and sisters,
We greet you all in the name of Almighty God, who in Jesus Christ on the first Christmas Day entered the life and history of humanity. The same God will come again not as the babe at Bethlehem but as Lord and judge of all peoples.
|
It is fitting for us as the St. Kitts contingent of the worldwide Anglican Communion to begin the new Liturgical year with this joint Eucharist; it is a powerful show of unity. It is important that every Anglican in St. Kitts make an extraordinary effort to support the St. Kitts Regional Council. Sometimes we are far too restricted to and by the concerns of our individual Parishes. Let us remember and act upon the fact that we Anglican Christians strongly and firmly believe in the universal or Catholic Church.
It is as part of our conscious efforts to witness to that universal or Catholic Church that within the Constitution and Regulations of our Diocese provisions have been made for every island in the Diocese to be or form part of a Region. Yes brothers and sisters in Christ, the St. Kitts Regional Council is provided for under the Constitution and Regulations of our Diocese. It is not an optional extra, but a vital body in helping all Anglicans to concretely live out our deep belief in and strong commitment to the universal church.
First among the six (6) functions of the Regional Council as outlined in Article 7 of the Constitution and Regulation of the Diocese, is to: Unify and strengthen the clerical and lay life of the Church within the Region by fostering and developing teamwork among the parishes; We ask every member to support the Regional Council.
Rev. Isaiah Phillip
