Lenten disciplines2007-03-04My dear Parishioners,
I greet you all on this the second Sunday in Lent. I trust that we are all keeping before us the challenge of the Lenten season. Let us as we go forward in this forty-days time of preparation to celebrate Easter, focus on the fact that Lent is a time for us to renew those relationships that lie at the very heart and center of our life in God and with God.
By way of the Lenten disciplines we attempt to draw attention to three aspects of our lives that need to be given special attention if there is to be a deepened commitment to God. The season of Lent calls every Christian to prayer: we do well to remember what some deeply experienced Christian once said “ prayer is the Christian’s vital breathe”. In lent 2007 let us do whatever we can to use the Parish’s special activities to strengthen our prayer life.
Rev. Isaiah Philip
